What is Early Years Funding

Early Years Funding is a government initiative that helps cover the cost of childcare for eligible children aged 2, 3, and 4. It includes:

  • Universal Entitlement: 15 hours/week for all 3–4-year-olds.
  • Extended Entitlement: Up to 30 hours/week for working parents. (From the term after a child terns 9mths old)

2-Year-Old Funding: For families meeting specific criteria (e.g. income-based, SEND, looked-after children).

- What types of funding are available for my child?

Jellytots Nursery offers 30 hrs of funding from 9mth to 4 years for working parents
2 year funding for qualifying families in receipt of certain benefits

-- When can my child start using funded hours?

From the term after they reach the eligible age. For example, if your child turns 3 in March, funding starts from April.

- Can I use fewer than 15 or 30 hours?

Yes, you don’t have to use the full entitlement. We’ll work with you to find a schedule that suits your needs.
